November 28, 2017 – Water Energy Nexus Study, EU Parliament, Brussels

On November 28, 2017, the Multinational Development Policy Dialogue of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the KAS Palestinian Territories together with EcoPeace Middle East held the event “A Water Energy Nexus (WEN) for the Middle East and the Historic Experience of the European Coal and Steel Community”.

The WEN is an exciting new concept surrounding the trade of water and energy between Jordan, Israel and Palestine and the study conducted by KAS and EcoPeace has concluded that there is a strong economic, environmental and geopolitical basis to produce and trade fresh water and renewable energy between these three countries.

Mr Elmar Brok, MEP of the European People’s party gave a keynote address.  He has called for immediate action to support this project before the window of opportunity is closed for ever.

Below are links to Mr Elmar Brok´s key note, an interview with EcoPeace Co- Directors: Gidon Bromberg, Munqeth Mehyar and Nada Majdalani, and an interview with representatives from the Israeli and Palestinian ministries.
