EcoPeace Middle East held two end-of-year ceremonies for the “Water Trustees” of the “Good Water Neighbors” project being carried out in Israel, Jordan and Palestine on monitoring and managing environmental hazards.
One ceremony was held on June 15th in the Science Museum in Jerusalem for the Israeli communities’ Youth “Water Trustees”.
After a tour of the museum’s exhibit “Touching Water”, the youth presented the GIS maps that they prepared over the year; we viewed our new Google Earth virtual tours of our “Neighbors Paths” as well as the environmental hazards identified by the youth; a screening of EcoPeace’s new video on the GWN / GIS project, and certificates were presented to the Water Trustees.
A similar ceremony was held, also on June 15th, at the Jordan Valley Environmental Education Center in Auja, for the Palestinian communities’ Youth “Water Trustees”.
We applaud our youth Water Trustees for the remarkable work they’ve done this last year.
